💧 Plant Watering Calculator
Find out exactly when and how much to water your houseplants. This free calculator considers your plant species, season, room humidity, and pot size to give you a personalized watering schedule.
🌱 Your Watering Plan
How It Works
Different plants have very different water needs. Succulents store water in their leaves and need watering only every 2-3 weeks, while ferns prefer consistently moist soil and may need water every 2-3 days during summer.
This calculator combines four key factors:
- Plant Species — Base watering frequency (succulents vs tropical plants)
- Season — Plants drink more during growing season (spring/summer) and less when dormant (winter)
- Room Humidity — Low humidity means faster soil drying, more frequent watering
- Pot Size — Larger pots hold more water, so they need less frequent watering
Signs of Overwatering vs Underwatering
Overwatering (most common plant killer):
- Yellow leaves starting from the bottom
- Soft, mushy stems
- Soil that stays wet for days
- Fungus gnats in the soil
Underwatering:
- Crispy brown leaf edges
- Drooping, limp leaves
- Soil pulling away from pot edges
- Leaves curling inward
