Fiddle leaf fig brown spots — the watering schedule that fixed mine
My fiddle leaf fig developed brown spots on about 70% of its leaves over 3 months. I was watering every 7 days like clockwork. The soil was staying wet too long, causing root suffocation and leaf spot.
I switched to a 14-day watering schedule with a moisture meter — only water when the meter reads 3 or below at 4 inches deep. First month: 2 new leaves, zero brown spots. Second month: 4 more clean leaves. The brown-spotted older leaves eventually dropped off naturally.
Bottom line: fiddles need to dry out completely between waterings. A moisture meter is $12 and saves you months of guessing.
