Peace lily drooped hard after repotting — the ice-cube trick that revived it in 36 hours

Repotted my 3-year-old peace lily yesterday morning. It had been in a 6-inch pot for 18 months, roots were circling the outside like a nest. Moved it to an 8-inch pot with fresh potting mix. By evening, every leaf was drooping flat against the soil — classic transplant shock.

What worked: 3 ice cubes placed on the soil surface before bed. They melted slowly overnight, giving the roots steady moisture without waterlogging. By morning, 4 of 12 leaves had perked up. By this afternoon (36 hours later), all 12 are upright again. The trick is slow, cold water — room-temp water poured fast can shock the roots further.
